is a multi-passionate creator. She has found her calling through travelling, shifting from the natural sciences to liberal arts, and writing her blog on mental health, teenage empowerment, and Mauritian politics for 7 years now. Pawena was a consistent ‘a’ grade 2015 HSC student at the Queen Elizabeth College (2009 – 2015). She was chosen to be part of the Opposition wing of the National Youth Parliament 2018 edition in Mauritius and delivered her first TEDx speech on Feminism and Permanent Beta earlier this year. Pawena was named ‘Outstanding Student Leader’ in her B-school years, majoring in Marketing with a full scholarship at S P Jain School of Global Management. She has several podcast appearances, Mauritian newspaper opinion pieces and has written 3 Wattpad novels since her 15th birthday, Aaron and Maithli, How to be the Perfect Teenager, and Blue Queen. As an inspiration to her peers, Pawena created the ‘If Only Closed Minds Came With Closed Mouths’ on Facebook in 2014 to spread awareness about the taboo of suicide among teenagers. Among her many hobbies like painting and philosophising, Pawena is a part-time General Paper tutor.
